I am concerned that there are a few arrow-mage guides posted out there , but most of them are out-dated. So here i am to introduce to you guys an up to date arrow mage guide.
Introduction
Mages had always been one of the top dps in toram, but still only a handful of people play mages up to their maximum potential and in order to achieve maximum potential requires good builds. Arrow-mage is one of the few possible builds you can make on your mage. Undeniably one the best rank hogging builds mage could possibly have ,but what trully differentiate arrow mages from other builds is its ability to fully utilize triple smite combos at very low mp costs and while having a playstyle similar to dagger mages ,but all thanks to the fast casting smoke dust (5mp) which could be used as a 'save' tag in your combo, it would give you numerous possibilities for your combo that other builds can't attain.Weapon : Staff + Arrow(Sub)

Combos
Arrow Mage's Bread & Butter Combo
My most favourite fastest spamming & gapless combo which only takes lesser than 9s to complete if you have more than 1kcspd Arrow > Smoke Dust (save) > Moeba Shot (swift) > Paralysis Shot (cons) > Impact (swift) >Storm (smite) > Holy Fist (cons)
[MP : 100]
[Arrow : 100% , Storm 150%]
[CP : 12]
Solo Prorate? Yes ; 3 : 2 phy-mag ratio
Triple Smite Series
LONG RANGE :
Arrow mages don't just settle with 1 type of combo , they switch to many different variants of combos that could adapt to many different types of enemies/meta so you wouldn't just get bored repeating the same set of combos again and again ,but even if numerous possible combos could be made with arrow mage's skill set ,only a few of this combos trully stand out among the rest. Here are the few possible combo arsenals you can use :
Arrow Mage's Bread & Butter Combo
My most favourite fastest spamming & gapless combo which only takes lesser than 9s to complete if you have more than 1kcspd Arrow > Smoke Dust (save) > Moeba Shot (swift) > Paralysis Shot (cons) > Impact (swift) >Storm (smite) > Holy Fist (cons)

Impact-less Combo
Super fast casting combo because of the transition of arrow > storm which would make your storm semi insta-cast. Perfect for delicate bosses such as Jade and Nurethoth Arrow > Smoke Dust (save) > Moeba Shot (swift) > Bullseye (cons) > Paralysis Shot (cons) > Storm (smite) > Holy Fist (cons)

ARROW MAGE INFO SECTION
Welcome to the info section , here we would discuss general info and FAQ about arrow mage.
Which is the best helmet for dps? Bandage eye-patch , Aunigma hat , Curled horns , or Ribbon headband?
Let's assume you have the ff. stats :
1500 raw matk(weapon included)
255 int
42 Dex
Anniv 3 @90 (60% stab)
Bandage Eyepatch (3% MATK INT AND WEP ATK)
would give you the ff.
3% matk = 45
3% int = 7.65 int = 30.6 matk
3% wep atk = 2.7matk
Total : 78.3 more matk
Magic Stability is 80%
Your dmg would range from 1262 to 1578
Aunigma (5% MATK , DEX+2%)
would give you the fd.
5%matk = 75
2%dex = 0.9dex = ???
Total : 75 matk
Magic Stability is 80%
Your dmg would range from 1260 to 1575
Curled Horns (4% MATK , 8% Stab)
4% matk = 60 matk
Total : 60 matk
8% stab + 60%(wep stab) = 68% total stab
68% + 100 = 168% ÷ 2 = 84% Magic Stability
Magic Stability is 84%
Your dmg would range from to 1310 to 1560
Ribbon Headband (INT+6% , AGI+3% , Stab +5% , Aggro -20%)
6% int = 15.3 int = 61.2 matk
3% agi = n/a
Total : 61.2 matk
5% Stab + 60% (wep stab) = 65% total stab
65% + 100 = 165% ÷ 2 = 82.5% Magic Stability
Magic Stability is 82.5%
Your damage would range from 1288 to 1561
Base on the result : clear winner is curled horn due to providing a higher stability which would help you deal a much more 'constant' amount of dmg BUT ribbon headband will give you -20% aggro which would help to insure you the safety while dps-ing without pulling the aggro upon yourself. Bandage might've beaten aunigma here but remember , as the raw matk gets higher , aunigma would eventually beat bandage.
Bonus : In case you are wondering which has higher dps between curled horn and bandage eyepatch.
Time to go in further for stability to determine the winner between this two :
Bandage Eyepatch
Having 80% stab would give you 21 different values of dmg from 80% - 100%
Each value differs by 0.9524..%
The 21 dmg values are the ff :
1262 , 1277 , 1292 , 1307 , 1322 , 1337 , 1352 , 1368 , 1383 , 1398 , 1413 , 1428 , 1443 , 1458 , 1473 , 1488 , 1503 , 1518 , 1533 , 1548 , 1563 , 1578
Curled Horn :
Having 84% stab would give you 17 different values of dmg from 84% - 100%
Each value differs by 0.9411..%
The 17 dmg values are :
1310 , 1325 , 1339 , 1354 , 1369 , 1384 , 1398 , 1413 , 1428 , 1457 , 1472 , 1486 , 1501 , 1516 , 1531 , 1545 , 1560
Final result : When using bandage eyepatch , there's a higher chance of you dealing lesser dmg than dealing higher dmg against curled horns. Winner is curled horn.

How to compute for your combo dmg/min
First, record the time of your combo at real time from start to finish
Second , convert all your main skill dmg to storm dmg% using the formula above (don't forget your combo tags like smite and etc)
Then use this formula :
your combo dmg converted into storm dmg * (60sec ÷ time of your combo)
You can find your avg mp cost per minute by (60 sec ÷ time of your combo) * mp cost of combo. If you end up with a decimal , find the highest and lowest whole numbers , and that will serve as your as approximate mp cost depending on how you performed your dps.
I.e.
Bread and butter combo
Arrow : 100% , Storm : 150%
Time : Approx 8.7s
MP cost : 1
100% Arrow = 40.4% Storm dmg + 150% Storm dmg = 190.4% Total Storm dmg
190.4 * (60 ÷ 8.7)
= 1313.1% Storm damage per minute / MP cost : 6
Dagger mage's
spike dart > arrow (smite) > poison dagger (save) > throwing knife (cons) > impact (cons) > storm (smite) > holy fist (cons)
Arrow : 150% , Storm : 130%
Time : Approx 9.5s
MP Cost : 2
150% Arrow = 60.6% storm dmg + 130% storm = 190.6% Total Storm dmg
190.6 * (60 ÷ 9.5)
= 1203.8% Storm dmg per minute / MP cost : 12 ~ 13

How to effectively dps and make the most out of your combo?
People who only uses the combo : impact > storm (smite) > mp charge (swift) only plays their mage up to half of their true potential because using mp charge midway through a fight , aside from restoring your own mp, will contribute nothing for the battle at all. When talking about mage's dps , majority of it comes from storm , but as oppose to other types of dps skill , storm lasts the entire 7 seconds(storm ticks) on the field and takes 8.5 seconds to complete including the animation and charging from the start , and the way in order for mages to effectively dps is for them to squeeze in as much dps skills and/or physical skills in order for them to prorate and lower the dps of other contenders for the attacker rank during the span of 7 seconds. An ideal combo for mage should always have a 150% storm dmg , +1 or more filler dps skill, 1 or 2 mp costs , and shouldn't take more or less than 8.5s to complete for the whole combo.
What's the ideal amount of cspd?
The ideal amount of cspd is flat 1000, anymore than that will greatly reduce the effectiveness of cspd (when it comes to reducing casting time per point). As per other people's belief , they believed that 100 points of cspd = 0.1s less casting time but this is wrong, the reduction of cspd is based on the casting time of skill itself , so in short that means if you had your storm got reduced its casting time by 0.6s , that doesnt mean your arrow would also get its casting time reduced by 0.6s. Generally 1000 cspd should reduce your casting time by 50%, at around 2000 cspd , it would reduce your casting time by 55% only , that is only a small increase yes , which is the reason why 1000 cspd is the most optimal amount.
But should this hinder you for getting a little bit more cspd?
The answer is no , having abit of extra cspd lets you use xtals such as nure (-150 cspd) without getting your cspd conpromised anywhere below 1000. That means you can entirely replace scrader xtals without minding that pesky reductions blue xtals commonly have.
